A small studio with a long memory.

Irmo Web Design is the web design and development studio of Nick Irmo, based in Barrington, Illinois. We have been building websites and the marketing around them since 2008, for local service businesses, lenders, law firms, franchise systems, HR companies and national brands.

Why we exist

Most websites are judged on launch day and then left alone. The ones that keep producing work are built differently: they are fast, easy to update, honest about what the business does, and wired into the systems that follow up on every lead.

We come at websites from the marketing side. Nick has led marketing in-house for mortgage lenders, a PEO and a law and tax firm, and has run the agency Clicking Awesome since 2008. That means the sites we build are measured on calls, bookings and revenue, not on how they look in a portfolio.

We are platform-neutral on purpose. WordPress for blogs and content, Webflow for heavy design, React and Next.js for speed, Shopify or BigCommerce for commerce, and a headless CMS when content needs to go further than one site.

How we work

A few rules we hold ourselves to on every project.

Fixed scope, fixed price

You get a written scope and a price before work starts. Changes are priced before they are made.

You own everything

Code, CMS, domain, hosting and analytics live in your accounts from day one.

Speed is a requirement

Performance budgets are part of the scope, and we test on real phones before launch.

Search and AI ready

Schema, llms.txt, Open Graph and clean technical SEO ship with every site.

Security by default

MFA, least-privilege accounts, backups and updates are set up at launch, not after a scare.

Plain English

No jargon in reports or meetings. When we have to use a technical term, the glossary explains it.
